About our team

Our team is a year round YMCA age group competitive team. We offer high quality coaching and technical instruction based upon the swimmers age and ability. Our goal is to provide every team member an opportunity to improve skills and achieve success at his/her level of ability---from novice to national level.

All of our coaches have many years of competitive swimming experience. They maintain all of the certifications necessary to provide a safe and quality experience. All coaches are staff members of the YMCA.

The SVY Chinooks Swim Team is a program of the Skagit Valley Family YMCA. The YMCA allows the team to have a Parent Committee, which is elected by the swimmers parents. This Parent Committee raises funds for the team, provides support to the coaching staff and helps manage all swimming meets and social programs.

We are constantly growing and training young swimmers in order to maintain a well rounded competitive YMCA Swim Team.
