Parent Club

The SVY Chinooks Parents club supports the efforts of the swimmers in numerous ways. There is a direct tie between the success of the team and the involvement of the parent volunteers. Some of the things that the team needs the parents to do include:

  • Be timers at home meets - no timers no times, no times, no results, no results, no meet.
  • Help with fundraising - the monthly dues that the swimmers pay go to pay for pool time and coaching. The fund raising is needed to buy new training equipment, team t-shirts, pay for some of the  entry fees, etc. etc.
  • Be encouraging - all of us need a pat on the back or a nice word at one time or another. Our parents help with this with their own swimmers and other swimmers on the team.
  • Be a good example - Commitment to family, team, self are all learned behaviors, when positively modeled by parents it helps the swimmers do the same for their (and the team’s) growth and benefit.

The parents club meets once a month during practice. The officers include President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Meet Director, and Head Coach.
